Why in-person

Built around real control hardware.

Real DCS & PLC systems

Practice on live Siemens, Emerson, Rockwell, Yokogawa and Honeywell hardware — not slideware.

Small cohorts

Limited seats per session so every engineer gets time on the console and direct instructor feedback.

Taught by practicing engineers

Led by the same people who tune loops and re-stabilize MPCs in the field — the in-the-plant perspective.

Certificate of completion

Leave with a recognized PiControl certificate — and, for PID Tuning, a hands-on certification.

The catalog

Two courses, one control discipline.

01Certification

PID Tuning Training & Certification

The practical, mathematical foundation of loop control — from system identification to repeatable, objective-based tuning.

  • Open- & closed-loop system identification
  • Mathematical PID tuning to real plant objectives
  • Control-loop design & diagnostics
  • Hands-on certification on the SIMCET simulator

02Advanced

Advanced Process Control

Move beyond single loops — design and deploy APC and MPC that hold the unit at its real constraints.

  • When to use APC vs. full MPC
  • Building complete APC inside a PLC or DCS
  • Calculating MPC parameters scientifically
  • Hands-on with PITOPS + COLUMBO on live DCS

Certification

Leave certified, not just trained.

Every course ends with a PiControl certificate of completion. The PID Tuning program adds a hands-on certification — you'll tune live loops on the SIMCET simulator and demonstrate the method before you leave.

FAQ

Before you register.

The practical questions teams ask about our in-person courses. For dates, seats and pricing, continue to the course page.

Control, process, instrument and APC engineers — plus reliability and operations staff who own loop performance. No advanced math background is required; we build the method from the ground up.
Yes. Every session runs on real DCS/PLC systems and our SIMCET and PITOPS software, so you practice the exact workflow you'll use back at the plant.
Yes — both courses can be delivered on-site at your facility for a full team, in addition to our Houston and Zagreb campuses. Choose a city to start, then tell us on the next step.
PID Tuning & Certification covers single-loop control — identification, tuning and diagnostics. Advanced Process Control goes further, into APC and MPC design and deployment. Many teams take them in sequence.
Courses are taught in English at both campuses. Reach out if your team needs other arrangements for an on-site session.
